PELVIC FLOOR REHABILITATION

WHY?

Because you may have never heard about it before or you may be pregnant or have given birth,

you're experiencing incontinence or maybe dyspareunia (pain during sexual intercourse).

WHAT IS PELVIC FLOOR REHABILITATION?

It is an approach to improving the strength and function of the muscles that support the bladder, rectum and other structures within the pelvis. These muscles stretch from the pubic bone to the tailbone, creating a hamac or the "floor" of the pelvis. Pelvic floor rehabilitation will help you make a smooth transition as your body adapts, regaining the strength and the tone of muscles, preventing any complications in the future.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Pelvic floor rehabilitation uses the principles of physical therapy to provide a structured program for reconditioning these muscles. Each woman is unique and therefore will have a personalised program for building strength and improving pelvic floor function. The components of an individual program includes pelvic floor exercises as well as breathing exercises in a global step by step approach.

AND IN PRACTICE:

This will include asking you multiple questions about your health, providing you explanations to help you understand and optimise your sessions, advising you on any adjustments to be made and finally performing muscles testing. We will then establish together your personalised program.

Pelvic floor rehabilitation can be at any stage of your life,
it's never too late to start!
